What is a Hydrosol?

A Hydrosol is a by- or co-product of the destillation process of an Essential Oil. When aromatic oils are distilled from the plant the eesential oil is collected in a Florentine flask and the stream (now water) flows into a vat.

This water contains heavier, water-soluble molecules that did not evaporate, as well as tiny traces of essential oils.

Both the action and fragrance of Hydrosols are gentler than of aromatic oils. The scent has a heavier herbal note. Hydrosols diluted are very safe to offer to cats and dogs for self-medication.
